The general terms of reference for the Internal Committee are as follows:
- Engage and involve the membership in the Chebucto Community Net
- Promote the widespread use of Chebucto Community Net resources

- Organize and orientate volunteers/contributors to the Chebucto
Community Net

The Internal Committee has not met during the past year, although most of
the members of the Committee are members of the Board, and Internal issues
have been discussed at most Board meetings. An ad hoc committee of the
Board was established to work on a Volunteer Based Recruitment Project.
The members of this committee were Tanya Moxley, Marni Tuttle, Alan Turner
and Bill Matheson. As the name indicates, the intent of the committee was
to develop methods and resources for recruiting and retaining volunteers
to participate in all areas of CCN's operations. The committee met several
times during the summer and fall of 2005 to assess CCN's current
operations and develop plans to move forward. Unfortunately, the
commitments and schedules of committee members have not permitted action
on these plans to proceed.
It is obvious that greater involvement of CCN's members as volunteers is
very important to our future. However, we seem to have a bootstrapping
problem at the present time: without enough volunteers with enough time to
contribute to CCN, we can't develop or effectively carry out plans to
increase the number of volunteers, or the hours contributed by volunteers.
I hope that the new Board, and members of CCN, will be able to overcome
this obstacle during 2006.
